Personal (Jack Reacher #19) by Lee Child

Personal (Jack Reacher, #19) - Lee Child

I received a free kindle copy of Personal (Jack Reacher #19) by Lee Child published by Random House Publishing Group-Bantam Dell from NetGalley in exchange for a fair review.

I've been a Lee Child/Jack Reacher fan for years. Because I found this very different from his previous Jack Reacher Novels I'm sad to admit I gave it three & a half stars. That was a generous rating.

What has happened to the Jack Reacher I knew & loved. His characteristic fast paced action is non-existent in this novel. It's mostly about the misadventures of the government run initialized agencies across the globe. This is the first time I struggled to finish reading. I miss Jack Reacher, the lone hitchhiker. Here is a stone cold government sanctioned killer. The only constant was his toothbrush & that wasn't enough to carry the book.

The only scene that is reminiscent of the 'real Jack Reacher' is his confrontation with Little Joey, a seven foot giant mobster. If this had been the first Lee Child Jack Reacher book I'd read, I wouldn't have read more. I guess it's time for Jack to retire. **Sigh** all good things come to an end.
