It was a nice, entertaining mystery but I needed to look up most of the Yiddish expressions. I know they set the stage & helped develop the ethnicity of the characters but it got frustrating. The fact that the Julius and Rebecca Cohen Home for Jewish Seniors was named far too many times was one thing that cost a star.
The residents of the Julius and Rebecca Cohen Home for Jewish Seniors have gotten themselves into a pickle. There is snooping, stealing & murder among the arguing octogenarians. The inept & prejudiced manager of the home is sorry he's confronted Mrs. Kaplan & her trusty sidekick Ida.
Will Mrs. Kaplan be arrested for the murder of Bertha Finkelstein since she made the matzoh ball Bertha choked on? Will Ida continue to be Dr. Watson to Rose Kaplan's Sherlock Holmes? What kind of scrapes will they get into in their attempt to solve this mystery? Can they help a friend's daughter avoid a con man who's romancing the shy, sheltered young woman?
It did keep me guessing & I liked that. Check out this mystery for a fun read.
