Fracture After Dark by Shawn Jolley

Fracture After Dark - Shawn Jolley

Fracture After Dark by Shawn Jolley is a frightening story. I gave it four stars because it kept my attention. There are a few errors listed below that need editing.

Eden is a thirteen year old boy who moved to Fracture with his mom, Felicia to escape his alcoholic, abusive dad, Melvin, who was a disgrace "to the badge". He didn't want a fresh start but his mom demanded that he make friends.

"No matter how low it got in the sky, it refused to set, and the temperature didn't feel like it was going down at all. He blinked, his eyes stung, and his hatred for Fracture rose suddenly and fell sharply, extinguished and fueled at the same time by the heat."

The characters are well written and the dialogue is crisp. I will look for more of this author's work.

I received a complimentary Kindle copy from Amazon Scout. That did not change my opinion for this review.

"make due" should be "make do" 1251

"a small cement wall surround" "cement wall that surrounded" 1660

"You're friend Dustin" "Your" 2246
