Coyote, A Jessica James Mystery by Kelly Oliver is chock-full of subjects. I gave it almost four stars.
It touches on the injustice on the Blackfoot Indian Reservation both from white people and their own leaders. Sex trafficking and prostitution are also covered. Fracking and lumber mills raping the land are subjects. A bus accident eleven years prior kills Jessica's father and leaves a missing teenager and baby. Her mother mentions having been pregnant but nothing is ever conclusive about what happens. She became an alcoholic. Lastly, suspected murder is brought into the mix. In my opinion, less would have been more appropriate. I found the ending flat.
