Dead Men Don't Pay: A Neil Marshall Short Story by Tim Hemlin

Dead Men Don't Pay: A Neil Marshall short story (The Neil Marshall Mysteries) - Tim Hemlin

Dead Men Don't Pay: A Neil Marshall Short Story by Tim Hemlin is an intriguing story. I gave it five stars & wished it had been longer.  I wanted to know more about these well drawn characters.

Linda Garcia McDaniels was charged with the murder of her ex, Ricky Santiago, a part time drug dealer. He was shot with her gun which had been in her truck glove compartment. Her father, C.J., a private investigator collected Neil Marshall, her present on-again, off-again boyfriend to take him to the police department to find out what the police know. Later they went to Ricky's widow's house where Adriana told them she would be glad that Linda paid for the crime whether she did it or not. Ricky also owed money to a gangster.

"The brilliant blue sky invited the sun to pour all its meanness down on us, though perhaps I felt it all the more since I'd not had time to rehydrate."

I received a complimentary kindle copy from Amazon. That did not change my opinion for this review.
