Unforeseen: (Tenth Anniversary Edition) (Thomas Prescott Book 1) by Nick Pirog

Unforeseen - Nick Pirog

Unforeseen:  (Tenth Anniversary Edition) (Thomas Prescott Book 1) by Nick Pirog is a five star story.  I really enjoy his writing.  It keeps me entertained.  This one was a stay up late to finish kind of book.

I especially enjoy Thomas Prescott's clever quips. "Dr. Dodds unbuttoned her blazer & revealed she'd been concealing three deadly weapons.  While all were respective thirty-eights & all were equally special, only one was a Smith & Wesson."

Later Thomas, the retired homicide detective, was driving with Lacy & frustrated by the GPS voice in his car.  "For the next ten minutes the generic woman's voice shouted out commands every thirty seconds & I finally had the idea what it was like to be married.  Once safely in the parking lot, the woman shouted, 'Put the car in Park.'  I put the car in park & she nagged, 'Turn off ignition.'  It took every ounce of self-control not to smash the screen with my fist."

Thomas was at a funeral for a murdered girl.  He described his tears like this:  "I don't cry when I'm sad, I cry when I'm angry. Angry tears don't dribble off your cheek, they're absorbed, as if you can't part with that anger, you need that anger to go on, to live."  Since I also cry when I'm angry, I could relate to this.

I highly recommend all of Nick Pirog's books.

I received a complimentary copy from Amazon in a promotion.  This did not change my opinion for this review.
