1/2986 - Annelie Wendeberg

I received a free kindle copy of 1/2986 by A. Wendeberg in an Amazon promotion.

I gave this confusing, but fascinating book five stars. I was puzzled by the time frames described. It seems as if there are modern advances but most of the people live in primitive circumstances.

Micka is being trained to be an Apprentice. It's a hard process & she's learning it well.

"Do you miss them?" He asks, & I answer, "No." I'm sure he knows it's a lie."

"Think of your darkest memory," he continues, & then imagine it to be much worse. This is what some of your days will be like." This is a dangerous time to live. They contend with disease, wild dogs, freezing cold & stench.
